SUNSET SKY YOGA (Acrobatic aerial Yoga with hammocks):
On one of the most stunning terraces of the island, in a typical Eolian style, you will have fun exploring the Air element from a breath-taking viewpoint. At sunset the sky and the cliffs are painted shades of gold, you will give in to no-gravity in the arms of Aeolus, powerful God Keeper of the Winds. In this unique class we will use our hammocks for dynamic sequences, changing postures through breathing. This will enable balance between strength and flexibility throughout our body, a fun and acrobatic challenge! Suitable for everyone, beginners and advanced, Yogi or not, kids (9+). Seniors should kindly refer to the trainer if interested in joining the class. A good dose of bravery is welcome as many poses will turn you upside down!(That’s the fun part). Pregnant women should kindly inform the trainer if interested (Sky Yoga Therapeutic is highly recommended) Please inform the trainer of recent injuries or pain. Available in Italian and English. AQUA YOGA (Yoga in the pool or in the bay):
Rocked by the Water element we will explore another way to practise yoga. We will discover a new physical and emotional balance, by adjusting our breathing and awareness to the soft natural movement of this precious element. Let’s go back to our original, natural element and abandon ourselves in it. Let’s challenge ourselves and have fun! Suitable for everyone, beginners and advanced, Yogi or not, kids (8+), adults. Recommended for seniors and those who recently suffered from backpain, injuries, etc. (Kindly refer to the trainer before joining) Available in Italian and English |
YIN YOGA by candlelight:
Literally “the Art of Quiet in the Asanas”, it is a specific branch of yoga focusing on connective tissue, that triggers deeper changes in our Mind and Body. Yin Yoga will challenge you with passive postures (as opposed to active Yang) to find peace and your natural breathing in some “uncomfortable” positions. It will work on blood circulation and meridians, increase and maintain flexibility, as well as positively affecting your Yang practice. Between 5 and 9 postures in 1 hour, each held between 5 and 20 minutes. Let’s increase our self-awareness, brushed by the wind on the lovely, candle-lit terrace at Cà Drautto. Suitable for everyone, beginners and advanced, Yogi or not, kids (9+) and adults of all ages. Available in Italian and English. |
HOOPYOGINI(Yoga with Hula Hoop):
Hula Hooping combined with Hatha Yoga and Mindfulness meditation. Let’s connect to our breathing and start move along the Air and Wind elements. Let’s dance and explore the free movements of our body and spirit, just smile and let go, starting from the spine, key support to life. This practice helps strengthen our abdomen, improves posture, helps weight loss, and supports our bones’ good health through gentle torsional exercise. Moreover, it improves heart functioning and it is a pleasant massage for our internal organs thanks to the Hula Hoop rotating around our waist. On an emotional level, this practice soothes our mind, reduces anxiety, boosts good mood, improves health and positive-thinking. It also helps decrease stress and focus on what we want to be, do, create. From an energetic point of view, this activity stimulates creativity, boosts drive and brings energy to our meridians. SKY YOGA THERAPEUTIC
Our body will be entirely supported by the hammock and we will hold postures for a reasonable amount of time, in order to allow total muscles, tissue, and mind relaxation, exploring the world of Fascia, the connective tissue in our body. This class allows to increase flexibility of body, mind and spirit, by experiencing complete surrender to gravity, in a relaxing but active way, brushed by Aelous’ wind. Suitable for all levels, kids (9+), adults of all ages. You are kindly advised to arrive 15 minutes before the start, in order to get used to the hammock. Please remove all jewellery! PRANAYAMA AND MEDITATION
(basic breathing techniques): We will meet at sunrise to learn basic breathing techniques, fill up all our cells with oxygen and get rid of toxins, simply by breathing! We will combine breathing and meditation techniques, exploring the world of Chakras and Kundalini with a message from the enlightening Vipassana*. Let’s discover our new self, our body, mind and spirit, let’s start to breathe again! Suitable for all levels, kids (9+), adults of all ages. *VIPASSANA: (’seeing things in their depth, the way they really are’ ) is one of the ancients meditation of India.It was discovered by Siddharta Goutama the Buddha, the Enlightened, 2.500 years ago. In Hindi at the time of the Buddha, ‘’passana’’ meant ‘to look, to see with open eyes, in the usual way’. On the other hand, ‘Vipassana’ means to look at things as they are in reality, not simply as they seem to be. For about 500 years humans forgot about its existence, it was with Goenkka J. that Vipassana was definitely back in India and Birmania and then spreaded around the world as the greatest simplest technique of meditation. Vipassana meditation is the way to change oneself through self-observation. When this truth is finally experienced, it will be easy to not react blindly, not to create more negativity, and consequently to gradually eliminate the old negativities in a natural way. Practicing Vipassana you will train and gym your mind to be extremely sharp, calm and attentive. You will be able to focus and recognize all the sensations of the body, the sattle and the grand ones, with the awareness of EQUITY and IMPERMANENCY. Training your mind to NOT REACT anymore, you will finally get rid of all the negativity and all the cravings based in the roots of your innerself, not in the surface, but deep in you! Bringing this mindfulness in every day life, you should be able to live in the harmony of peace, compassion, tolerance and pure love, for you and everybody around you. Vipassana is a universal way that can be practiced by anyone.

MANTRAS & MUDRAS
We will learn about Nada Yoga, the Yoga of Sound/Harmony through sound. This is the ancient art and spiritual science of inner transformation through sounds and tones. We will sing Mantras, said to be the highest, most powerful and simple way to reach the goal: Shanti=Peace of the Mind and Self-Realisation. Our mind is easily enchanted and absorbed by sound, into sound, thanks to the vibrations generated inside our body, travelling through our Water element. Mantra chanting is suitable for everyone, regardless the religious views and beliefs. We will combine Mantras with Mudras: specific movements with our hands and fingers focused on opening energetic channels, in order to lead a stronger flow of energy to certain organs and parts of our body. VINYASA FLOW
Let’s wake up in the sun, the smell of the sea, and the sound of the waves! This soft and embracing class will start with a powerful Sun Salutation and will focus on exploring the essential yoga postures and how to connect them through breathing, alignment, and awareness. This class also includes Pranayama basics (breathing techniques) and Mantras. Suitable for all levels, kids (9+), adults of all ages. Available in Italian and English. |
MOBILITY & FLEXIBILITY MYOFASCIAL + ROLL & RELEASE CLASS
Fascia: precious connective Tissues, they are responsible for each movement of our body, they give shape to our face and whole body, they keep the bones, muscles, ligaments, tendents strongly all together. Fascia are extremely elastic and Mobility & Flexibility class is focused exactly on the training and maintenance of this elasticity. It will be an exploration of how we move. We'll get deeper insights into what restricts our movement, and how to work with the body to create strength, flexibility, freedom and space. The role of fascia plays in everything we do,into fascia get stored all the emotions and injuries that have long healed, can be stuck within our fascias years later. We ll explore together this amazing word of Fascia, digging deeper in all these aspects, in a funny restorative class on the disco 90’s rhythm, 1 hr and 1/2 more aerobic then Yoga, but extremely efficient, with results of openness and elasticity already visible after the first meeting. The class will end with the restorative Roll & Release: a yin styled class of deep-tissue, facially focused self-massage. It uses myofascial release massage balls to access and release the tight and restricted areas in your body. Following the myofascial meridians, it eases and eliminates pain, increases flexibility and leaves your whole body feeling soft, open... and completely delicious. Everybody is welcome, adults and kids ( +10 y) Get ready to release a lots of toxins! achieving a deep elasticity that will surprise you. |
DAILY TRIP AROUND THE ISLAND
We will meet at 8am on Zimmari beach, grab our paddle boards, give safety instructions and off we go!! We will paddle towards Punta Corvo Bay, on the other side of the island, for our first Sun Salutation in the middle of the sea. We will carry on to Piscine (Pools), have fun diving into the water from a cliff, and have a well-deserved breakfast. After that we will jump on our boards searching for new adventures! We will move along the uninhabited coast: story goes it was the crater of the volcano. Once we reach Pietra Nave we will collect clay in the warm sulphuric caves and enjoy our open-air spa treatment. Finally, we will paddle to Moletto di Iditella or the Harbor for a proper Sicilian lunch, with delicious pasta and wine (details to be defined with participants). We will go back to our base around 3-4pm. |
